About PokerChosen

PokerChosen grew from years of using poker solvers and repeatedly encountering the same problem: the answers were available, but a clear path for learning from them was not.

We are building the guided study experience we wanted to find. It begins with the fundamentals of Texas Hold’em, develops the ideas behind modern poker theory, and prepares players to study solver strategy without treating thousands of isolated frequencies as a memory test.

PokerChosen is the structured path we wanted when learning to study with solvers. We continue to refine it through careful review, practical use and feedback from players.

Why PokerChosen?

The name PokerChosen carries two connected ideas. “Chosen” reflects deliberate study: selecting useful situations and patterns instead of trying to memorize every possible solver output. It also echoes the Japanese word 挑戦 (chōsen), meaning challenge. Learning poker means continually challenging your understanding, testing your decisions and choosing what to study next.

Learn. Train. Explore.

Learn builds the foundation and introduces the patterns behind a strategy. Train lets you practise decisions and get feedback on your choices. Explore lets you examine the ranges, combinations, frequencies, equity and expected value behind the result.

ChosenGTO carries this approach into solver study. The goal is not merely to operate a solver or copy its output. It is to develop a repeatable way to ask better questions, recognize transferable patterns and gradually form independent judgment.

Inspired by Shu–Ha–Ri

Our approach is informed by 守破離 (Shu–Ha–Ri), a Japanese model of progression: first learn a sound form, then understand and test it, and eventually develop the judgment to move beyond imitation.

Poker has different schools of thought, and strong players do not all study or play in exactly the same way. We believe that freedom and intelligent adaptation are easier to develop when they rest on a dependable foundation.

Created in Tokyo and available in English and Japanese, PokerChosen is for anyone looking for a clearer path from learning the game to studying it seriously.
